[It’s been a long few days since the Kin’corrans went “home”; Mia doesn’t remember most of them. Since the 31st she’s been, for the most part, sound asleep in the battledome clinic, trying to recover from…well, everything. Dealing with the fire didn’t help, leaving her spent and dehydrated and coughing. The time she’s spent awake, though, convinced her that things in the village were getting back to normal.

So her first mission of the day, after waking and sorting herself out, is to find something to do that will alleviate this boredom and, just perhaps, help make her case for just going home to lie about there instead.]

I know it has been very difficult and busy in the village just recently. Given the date, it will only stay busy. If it is at all possible, though, I would ask a small favor: would anyone be willing to bring a few books from the library to the battle dome clinic? I promise to return them at the first opportunity. …Once I’m done with them, that is.

While I am thinking about it…well, I would not mind a little company either. I want to hear that everyone is all right.

I have the ability to create water, Caius. I'm one of the best choices for fighting a drought fire. [Said without any sense of self-importance. Water puts out fire, like rock crushes scissors.] And I could heal my own burns, if they happened. I was well out of the way of any flames.

[She doesn't exactly believe in belaboring the point about wanting to leave, so that's out. What else can she think of?]

[After picking out a few novels from her little collection, Norma actually goes to the back of the house first. She snips just a few of Grune's flowers, trying to arrange them nicely into a little bouquet during the walk. She doesn't really achieve that goal, unfortunately, but it's the thought that counts, right?

When she finally gets to the clinic, Norma knocks gently on the door before peeking inside.]

[Mia is dozing when Norma arrives, a book closed over one of her fingers. Hearing a friendly "yo!" she opens her eyes and sits up again, smiling.]

[ Considering Xion was gone for the entire month of August, she's not really that sure of the context. All she knows is from hearsay, which doesn't always give the whole story. She pauses a little, but. ]

Okay. Do you need anything? I could bring something with me.

Thank you, but I don't need anything right now.

[And she gives a room number and carefully covers a yawn.]

Alright. Then I'll see you later, Mia.

[ She'll shut the journal after that, but she's left wondering what exactly is going on. Of course, with the refugees here... if anyone was going to work herself to the bone, it would be Mia.

So around lunch time she turns up as requested, though she doesn't know exactly where in the clinic Mia will be. Time to go a-hunting! ]

[Oh, dear Xion, that's what the room number was for.

When she does find Mia - in bed in said room, a patient instead of a healer today - she's got her attention on a book and won't hear Xion come in.]

[ She realizes too late why Mia is actually here.

And when she asks, and is told a room number, and finds Mia in bed inside... ]

Mia...

[ Trying not to look too upset. She's immediately worried, wondering just what she missed, and concerned for her friend. ]

... what happened?

[ She asks before she can think better of it, hovering in the doorway in her surprised dismay. But she does move into the room a moment later. ]

[If it's a consolation, just about every conversation today has begun like this. Mia looks up at her name, closing the book and smiling.]

Hello Xion. Please don't look so worried, I'm not hurt. I promise. [The sunny smile helps, doesn't it?] There was a fire a few days ago and I went to help put it out. Because of the power limit I couldn't recover my energy very well, so I have been here.

[Finally, finally she's gotten the proper explanation in the right order to give to people.]

Mm. I'll be close by anyway, so it isn't any trouble. Besides, it's been a long time since I've spoken to quite a few of my friends, since I was gone.

Not anyone I knew very well. An enemy Marine was probably the most familiar to me. [As in, he recognized his face from the Auction House.] I made sure to avoid him. He was on the loosing side of a very unpleasant battle I was a part of, and talking to him in the circumstances we were in would have just started a fight.

I did speak with some of the others. It was nice... catching up on home.

That sounds good. I did not see anyone I knew, but from what I hear a lot of others did.
