[It’s been a long few days since the Kin’corrans went “home”; Mia doesn’t remember most of them. Since the 31st she’s been, for the most part, sound asleep in the battledome clinic, trying to recover from…well, everything. Dealing with the fire didn’t help, leaving her spent and dehydrated and coughing. The time she’s spent awake, though, convinced her that things in the village were getting back to normal.

So her first mission of the day, after waking and sorting herself out, is to find something to do that will alleviate this boredom and, just perhaps, help make her case for just going home to lie about there instead.]

I know it has been very difficult and busy in the village just recently. Given the date, it will only stay busy. If it is at all possible, though, I would ask a small favor: would anyone be willing to bring a few books from the library to the battle dome clinic? I promise to return them at the first opportunity. …Once I’m done with them, that is.

While I am thinking about it…well, I would not mind a little company either. I want to hear that everyone is all right.

[Missing out on more than a day always leaves her too disoriented for her liking.]

[Actually there has been fruit and more fruit and then fruit masquerading as pie. And tea. Mia is no big eater so she's covered.]

It really is not necessary to bring anything.

[And true to her word, Estelle shows up a short time later at the clinic.]

[Depending on when she gets there, there may still be apple pie lingering around. Mia has her attention buried in a book.]

[Estelle peeks in to see Mia reading a book. Overcome by curiosity, she enters the room, but not before knocking to announce her presence.]

Which book are you reading, Mia?

[There's a sharp inhale at the sound. Mia looks quickly at Estelle, then lets out her breath with a smile and an embarrassed laugh.]

It is a play, from another world. Leonhardt loaned it to me.

I'm sorry. I didn't mean to startle you.

[She steps closer, peering curiously.]

Oh, how nice! How is it?

It is interesting so far! I have never seen a play performed, but imagining it all myself is like any other book. Please, don't feel you need to stand, there is a chair here.

[Which she nods to. It was always there but there've been visitors who stand and fret and Mia feels bad about it.]

[At the invitation, Estelle pulls over the chair and sits, placing her hands in her lap.]

I have never seen a play either, but I have read several. The plays in the library by a man named Shakespeare, are very interesting.

Really? What are they about?

Love, comedy, tragedy, revenge, just to name a few. He also writes some lovely poetry.

[Estelle then sits up straight and closes her eyes as she recites one of the sonnets.]

Let me not to the marriage of true minds

[As impressive as Estelle's memory is, Mia doesn't quite get the poem. She'll nod appreciatively anyway.]

It sounds very complex.

The language is archaic, and does require getting use to, but it's quite beautiful. It's talking about how love never dies. It's very romantic.

[And Estelle is a bit of a sucker for romantic things.]

Oh! I haven't heard anyone talk about love quite like that before. Did he write it for a special someone?

I believe he did, yes! I did read that he had a wife, and I'm certain she may have been his inspiration for many of his love poems.

[She sighs a little dreamily.]

It would be wonderful to experience that kind of love.

Yes it would. I'm sure you will someday.

Yes, perhaps one day. I'm certain you will as well, Mia.

[Estelle doesn't really know a lot about Mia but she seems like a very good and kind person.]

We need to finish restoring the world first.

[Oh dear. Was Mia's world in a similar state as her own?]

[Oh just look at this blush! It contrasts her aqua hair very nicely.]

Well! I-I would need to have...those sorts of feelings for someone first. And Luceti is so temporary, anybody can leave at any time...

Yes, that's true, but is it not also true back home? You never know which day might be your last. I don't think that should be a reason to not follow your heart if you did find someone.

[That's a bit morbid for Mia in light of her home situation. She fidgets with the corner of a book.]

As I said, we need to finish our quest first.

[Oh.. she didn't mean to make you feel uncomfortable Mia. But it is a fact of life, unfortunately.]

Oh, that's right, I understand. It's the same back in my world.

[That depends entirely upon the life you lead.]

Too many worlds are having such problems.

[True. But Estelle has yet to meet anyone that's actually immortal.]

Yes. I hope whatever is happening in your world, will end in the best way possible.

[Mia has! Ah, sort of.]

I have heard that things end well with regard to our current emergency but...I'm not so sure about the farther future.
