I have read about the spirits of this world, and there are spirits of a different sort in my own. I would like to hear about the spirits from other worlds, if anyone is willing to share. What are they like? Are there really worlds without them?

[anyone who sees Mia out and about today - only in the morning - will notice a distinct tiredness and heaviness to her step and movements. She's not feeling entirely up to par, which accounts for her going 'home' to rest after a quick few errands in the morning. The written entry comes later, sometime in the early afternoon.]

[it's rare, but she's really been running herself down lately. Her original intention was to sit on the couch and look over the journal...and it devolved into this.

He makes enough noise to wake her from her light sleep. When she sits up a little, she looks pale and her eyes are tired]

It's...no, it's all right.

[Even her voice sounds tired. Scratchy, sort of.]

I didn't mean to fall asleep.

If you are tired enough to fall asleep like that, you must need the rest.

[Though he is curious about why Mia has run herself down so much, but is just too polite to ask.]

[Perhaps he should ask. Mia is normally one to know her own limits about as well as she knows what snow looks like, and to not overstep them. The power limit here has a lot to do with how much she's tired herself out over the past week or two; the repetition of exhausting herself is what eventually made her sick.

And of course, all those people who just keep popping up hurt. She can't find it in herself to ignore them.]

I know that I do. I meant to run more errands today, but...really, I know better. So I came back.

[And she can ask him and Amiti to help out too.]

Then get some rest. I'll do them for you after I eat. There's enough for both of us if you're hungry.

[It's nothing special, just a salad with chicken in it. He's actually trying to learn how to cook things that don't involve fish, quite the concept for one like him.]

[Him, she will ask, if she has the means. Amiti, she's wary of asking, still - mostly because she has no idea of his skills.]

...As delicious as it must be, I don't think I can eat it. Ever since I got up this morning I haven't felt right.

[Just don't ask Amiti to try and use the Teleport Psyngery, not that Piers knows the exact details of that disaster.

But hearing that is very concerning.]

Then perhaps you should get some more rest. Though I'm sure your bed is far more comfortable than the couch.

Yes. I know you're right. [accompanied by a slow nod] I only needed to sit down for a moment...

You must be quite ill if just sitting down led to you falling asleep. [Not that he'd have a clue what it is, but at least he knows that is very much not normal.]

More than anything, I am tired.

[And she forgets that he knows comparatively little about illness.]

Don't worry, it's nothing that a day or two of rest won't fix.

[He'll forgive her for not remembering that because he is quite aware that outside Lemuria that is very strange for a Mercury Adept.]

That's good. [Really, he looks quite relieved.] Then get that rest. I'll handle everything for you so you need not exert yourself.

I had some books to return to the library...and then I was going to clean a little. You don't need to do that, though.

Rest assured that it will all be handled. [Yes, including any cleaning he can do that wouldn't wake her.] Where did you put the books?

[Though her mind is wandering a little, or perhaps because of this, she gets up to get the books from where she left them - in the bag she dropped at the door]
