[It’s been a long few days since the Kin’corrans went “home”; Mia doesn’t remember most of them. Since the 31st she’s been, for the most part, sound asleep in the battledome clinic, trying to recover from…well, everything. Dealing with the fire didn’t help, leaving her spent and dehydrated and coughing. The time she’s spent awake, though, convinced her that things in the village were getting back to normal.

So her first mission of the day, after waking and sorting herself out, is to find something to do that will alleviate this boredom and, just perhaps, help make her case for just going home to lie about there instead.]

I know it has been very difficult and busy in the village just recently. Given the date, it will only stay busy. If it is at all possible, though, I would ask a small favor: would anyone be willing to bring a few books from the library to the battle dome clinic? I promise to return them at the first opportunity. …Once I’m done with them, that is.

While I am thinking about it…well, I would not mind a little company either. I want to hear that everyone is all right.

[Missing out on more than a day always leaves her too disoriented for her liking.]

Well... all right. As long as you're okay with it. [He smiles sheepishly] See you soon! [Shutting his journal now to make his way towards the other side of the village.

It takes him a while to reach the battledome, jogging pretty much the entire way, but he eventually gets there! He walks into the clinic, quickly spots Mia and walks over to her with a book held tightly in his arms.] Hi Mia.

[He looks so shy and embarrassed, standing there. Mia smiles and nods to the seat beside her bed.]

Hello Seto. It's good to see you. Please sit down and stay for a while.

[And so he takes a seat on the chair next to her, lowering the book a little so it's not held to his chest but still holding it with both hands.]

It's good to see you too, Mia. And thank you. [A pause then he turns the cover of the book towards her so she can see. The book itself looks somewhat aged. The cover is a dull red color, almost brown with patches of dirt and dust that is permanently embedded in the material. The pages are a light yellow with age, some slightly torn but not at all in too bad of a condition. The title printed onto the cover, in faded gold letters on the top, is "Pirate Isle".] I brought you a book, like you asked. It's not a very long story but it's still good.

[Mia sits up straighter, trying to be brighter and a bit less tired for Seto's sake.]

It looks like a very old book. Did you find it in the library?

Yeah, I found it there a long time ago. It's actually a book from my world...

[He holds it so he can look at the cover, running his fingers across the title.]

Seto. [It would be sort of nice to end her day like this, actually.] If you're worried about the book, you don't need to leave it here, all right? Something so valuable shouldn't be left just anywhere.

A-Ah no it's okay! You'll be the one who has it and I know you'll take good care of it.

[He trusts her enough. She's a very gentle person after all. Besides, it's not like she won't give it back. So he smiles and offers it out to her]

Thank you. [She takes it, gently, setting it in its own place on the table beside her instead of atop the pile of other books.] I promise to be extra careful with it.

Thank you. [His smile brightens] I hope you like it just as much as I do.

I'm sure I will. [Aha! Mia spots the second round of apple pie and knows she will never manage to eat all of it.] Do you want a slice of pie?

Ah--sure! If that's okay. [He doesn't remember ever having pie before but he's seen it at the bakery and it always looks and smells good so... ]

Of course it is. There should be plates over there, on that little table. [Sorry she can't serve you a slice herself, Seto.]

Okay! [Gonna stand up now and walk over to said table] Do you want some too?

No thank you, I've already had a slice. The rest is to share with visitors.

Alright. [He cuts a slice for himself, grabs a fork, walks over to the chair and sits back down.] Thank you very much.

I've been great! Everything's gotten so much better now that I can see...

[It's amazing how much you miss when you can't see it anymore. Taking a bite of his pie]

Do you still live with Firo? [She hasn't had the time to catch up with him at all and she feels terrible about it. The clinics have just been so busy.]

Mm! I do. [Nom nom...]

[Oh, Seto. She'll let him finish his pie before she asks any more questions.]

Would you like to do something in a few days, when I have all of my energy back?

[Well it won't take him long to finish this slice. It's too good]

Of course!! I'd love to do something with you.

In that case, I offered to show Caius how to skate. Would you like to learn, too?

Sure! [Wait.] What's skating, exactly?

Skating is moving over the ice in winter with special shoes. It is a little difficult at first, but a lot of fun too.

With special shoes? [It does sound fun but he's curious. Back home puddles of water would freeze over during the winter but he'd always end up slipping on them]
