[It’s been a long few days since the Kin’corrans went “home”; Mia doesn’t remember most of them. Since the 31st she’s been, for the most part, sound asleep in the battledome clinic, trying to recover from…well, everything. Dealing with the fire didn’t help, leaving her spent and dehydrated and coughing. The time she’s spent awake, though, convinced her that things in the village were getting back to normal.

So her first mission of the day, after waking and sorting herself out, is to find something to do that will alleviate this boredom and, just perhaps, help make her case for just going home to lie about there instead.]

I know it has been very difficult and busy in the village just recently. Given the date, it will only stay busy. If it is at all possible, though, I would ask a small favor: would anyone be willing to bring a few books from the library to the battle dome clinic? I promise to return them at the first opportunity. …Once I’m done with them, that is.

While I am thinking about it…well, I would not mind a little company either. I want to hear that everyone is all right.

Better than you? [Could he heal up gunshot wounds huh?!] Wait, I still don't know how you ended up here in the first place. I asked why you were here before and you just said you wanted to go home.

He is centuries older than I am and has had a lot of time to practice. [And he could do a lot for a gunshot wound without the power issue. In fact he helped her then, too.]

There was a fire. I wore myself out trying to help.

Oh, huh. Guess that means he's way more experienced then you when it comes to this sort of thing. [He might've noticed his help if he weren't bleeding out and avoiding bullets at the time, but alas.]

-A fire?! You shouldn't exhaust yourself trying to help out like that, it's dangerous! [Fires are dangerous. Obvious stated.] What if you got burned or something like that?

I have the ability to create water, Caius. I'm one of the best choices for fighting a drought fire. [Said without any sense of self-importance. Water puts out fire, like rock crushes scissors.] And I could heal my own burns, if they happened. I was well out of the way of any flames.

[Huff. Well he can't really think of a way to come back to that. Water beats fire, plus Mia does the whole healing thing.]

You shouldn't throw yourself in there to help out just because you're a good choice. It's reckless and stupid! [HAH.] I mean... You must've done a good job, but there's no need to get yourself so tired that you need to rest up like this.

[Reckless and stupid. To an extent, she supposes. This pleasant smile hides what she might feel about the things he says.]

I'm not that worried! There must be plenty of other people who are just as worried anyway!

[Pfft.] I didn't think I'd get this worried over a fire. [Yeah, the fire. Not you Mia, the fire. That's it.]

[Mia tries to keep her sigh to herself. No matter what she says, she can't seem to stop Caius from being upset and vocal about his disagreements. So she will try the next best thing she can think of.]

Is there something else you would like to talk about?

Something else? Huh...

[A few things come to mind, but nothing that he thinks Mia would enjoy talking about too. His mind is still on this fire business.]

It's starting to get colder. [Oh gosh, small talk.] Maybe it'll snow again, when it gets cold enough.

I hope so. I miss the snow, especially when it gets very warm.

Me too! When I first came here there was snow all over. I didn't have any time to enjoy it though.

No, I've never even heard of skate before now. Is it fun? [Never even heard of 'skate'. What is sport, how do.]

Yes! It is a little bit difficult to learn at first, but once you can balance it's great. But you need a frozen lake with thick enough ice...or the rooms on the other side of this building, I suppose.

[... So it sounds like you just stand on ice or something like that? That's kinda dumb. But then again he though volleyball was dumb and that turned out to be fun.]

As much as I would love to, I don't think I have enough energy for skating yet. Will it be all right if I promise to show you as soon as I can?

[This has been one of her most interesting Luceti conversations to date. Caius doesn't know if he's going or coming and frankly neither does Mia.]

If you start practicing now, you should be good enough not to fall when winter really arrives.

That's true, the sooner I give it a go the faster I'll be able to get the hang of it...

[His voice trails off as he;s left wondering how the heck he can program ice into the battle dome. He's done a field before, and some basic monsters, but nothing more complex than that. Technology man, technology.]

[It'll work out. Mia can program Imil and that is all the ice you could ever ask for, plus some snow. And more ice.]

Don't be surprised if you do fall a lot at first. Ice is very unpredictable for new skaters.

It'll be fine, it sounds like all you have to do is stand and move around on the ice. As long as I'm careful I'll be able to do it!

[And he is the most careful of people out there... You can't fall through programmed in ice, right? He might just end up doing that.]

[Between the two of them? They could probably try for unbreakable ice and end up with sand instead.]

It's...just a bit more complicated than that. But don't worry, I know you'll get it.

[Watch as he tries to skate on sand instead, even after pointing out the obvious and mentioning the sand is sand, not ice.

This is going to be horrifying.]

Thanks Mia, then we can go skating together without you having to show me what to do first! Once I work out how to make ice in here I'll give it a go.

Oh. Did you not want me to show you? It is easier to learn from someone who already knows how, but of course I understand if you just want to do it on your own.

I was thinking of trying it myself so you didn't have to bother teaching me how to do it.

[Plus that's one less thing off Mia's mind. Put all that energy into resting and not thinking about skating!]
