[It’s been a long few days since the Kin’corrans went “home”; Mia doesn’t remember most of them. Since the 31st she’s been, for the most part, sound asleep in the battledome clinic, trying to recover from…well, everything. Dealing with the fire didn’t help, leaving her spent and dehydrated and coughing. The time she’s spent awake, though, convinced her that things in the village were getting back to normal.

So her first mission of the day, after waking and sorting herself out, is to find something to do that will alleviate this boredom and, just perhaps, help make her case for just going home to lie about there instead.]

I know it has been very difficult and busy in the village just recently. Given the date, it will only stay busy. If it is at all possible, though, I would ask a small favor: would anyone be willing to bring a few books from the library to the battle dome clinic? I promise to return them at the first opportunity. …Once I’m done with them, that is.

While I am thinking about it…well, I would not mind a little company either. I want to hear that everyone is all right.

To share the space and resources we did have. To stop thinking about who would get "priority" and arguing about why living here is better than living in their old village and how unfair it is.

Most of those outside my village who "witnessed" one of us using it were just surprised and confused.

[It's a longer hug than she intended. Suddenly she aches for her Weyard friends, who did not hug often but the invitation was always there; she wants someone who understands the things she thinks about when it comes to duty.

But this is okay, for now. Perhaps, better than okay - Norma is a good friend, too.]

[Coming here and seeing the clinic again, he suddenly misses going to work. It makes no sense to him, since he doesn't usually like hospital. But in theory, helping people, making them healthier, what's not to like about a job like that?]

No. I did not know the previous one very well either. [Kurt gave her a craving for burgers and soda, but not sweets. She even takes the pie slowly; it's likely she won't finish it.]

I don't know very much, other than that our duty is to protect Mercury Lighthouse. [A duty which she failed spectacularly. Good thing that was the right choice.] I'm fairly sure it was a line of Adepts, though - my parents and my cousin had these abilities too.

Yes, most of the time. Sometimes I do feel like just being alone for a while.

[Uh-oh. Will Grune take that the wrong way?] But not right now! I asked for company because I wanted it, definitely.

[Oh, Mia. Norma snuggles for as long as she's needed, and raises an eyebrow at the little comment added on at the end, her smile before a little more gentle. Think too much? Haha, that sounds really familiar. As she pulls back, Norma chuckles quietly, rubbing the back of her neck a little.]

[Mia's a bit embarrassed herself. Restless fingers tug the edge of her clinic-issue blanket.]

Mercury Lighthouse? What sort of place is it? [She really shouldn't be asking so many questions - it's a bit rude, isn't it? - but she can't help it. The curiosity about something so similar to things important to her is too strong.]

[Perhaps Ami does not have lighthouses.]

It is a somewhat sacred tower that houses the beam that comes from the Mercury Star; when all of the lighthouses are lit, Alchemy is unleashed in the world. It may be that at one time, the beacon also served the purpose of an ordinary lighthouse, to guide ships to shore safely, but it has been unlit for decades.

Amazing. In my home, they're only ordinary lighthouses. There aren't any like that at all.

[Though a part of it strikes a chord somewhere inside her - not a memory, not even those vague feelings of the past life, but the simple fact that Mercury would be star of Knowledge, just as its soldier is the solder of Intellect.]

That's a good idea. I really should've.

[But now she's given him Ideas to ponder while he finishes his pie. There are so many cool recipes to try. *-* His housemates will doubtlessly ban him from the kitchen again.

Tsuzuki notices that she's eating the pie slowly. It makes him feel a bit guilty for wolfing down his own.]

So you would absolutely fine with people entering your house without your permission? [Because that's what he's getting from this. Nothing so broad as public resources, but what he considers to be private.]
