[It’s been a long few days since the Kin’corrans went “home”; Mia doesn’t remember most of them. Since the 31st she’s been, for the most part, sound asleep in the battledome clinic, trying to recover from…well, everything. Dealing with the fire didn’t help, leaving her spent and dehydrated and coughing. The time she’s spent awake, though, convinced her that things in the village were getting back to normal.

So her first mission of the day, after waking and sorting herself out, is to find something to do that will alleviate this boredom and, just perhaps, help make her case for just going home to lie about there instead.]

I know it has been very difficult and busy in the village just recently. Given the date, it will only stay busy. If it is at all possible, though, I would ask a small favor: would anyone be willing to bring a few books from the library to the battle dome clinic? I promise to return them at the first opportunity. …Once I’m done with them, that is.

While I am thinking about it…well, I would not mind a little company either. I want to hear that everyone is all right.

[That always sounds so grand, saving the world. It rather is. She doesn't like to bring up the months they spent mistakenly trying to stop the restoration of the world instead.]

Grune picks up a fork and a piece of pie and sits down to eat. Hmm.... She should bring Mia a few flowers later on. They would make the room nice and cheerful.]

[ From the outside, it very much does seem like Mia is an extremely hard worker. Perhaps too much of one. It's hard for anyone but the closest of people, or perhaps just herself, to see the care she takes not to burn out. Most others are just going to see the work, and its effect.... that's what Xion sees, anyway. And she's concerned about her friend, who was there for her with good advice when she was working herself too hard.

Anyway, that gets her to shake her head. ]

Don't apologize! It's just ... you've been there for me so much. I want to be there for you, too.

[Granted, it takes her longer to burn out because of the mechanics of Psynergy; she can marathon, so to speak, as long as she doesn't sprint the whole time.

And Xion is only trying to be helpful. Mia knows it.]

[Grabbing the book from his nightstand now. He's kinda using it as half of an excuse to come and visit her now]

I see. It sounds very interesting, but it must take you a long time to get to a country far enough away.

[Briggs comes to mind. What she knows of him, at any rate. Then a slow smile forms on her face.]

[Her garden has already been invaded (or will be, by then) by a bubbly friend with scissors and a good heart. More flowers will of course be appreciated.

For now, dazed blue eyes open and start to focus on the visitor eating pie in the nearby chair. Mia makes a sound, too, like the tail end of a question she didn't actually ask.]

No, Seto, I really am fine. Just a little tired.

[Hearing him worry is a little heartwarming and a lot of generated counter-worry.]

[He feels silly for managing to get confused over something like this. So at least she's not alone in feeling a little embarrassed. Tsuzuki battles this by finding the right door. He knocks, gently.]

I guess healers can get sick and hurt, too.

It's about thirteen hours on an airplane. It seems incredibly fast when you think about how far the plane travels in that time, but it can seem very long while you're sitting in your seat.

[Law laughs.] Yes, we were. It's just that the treasure may not be silver and gold. And is probably not, by all reckoning. See, no one knows what the One Piece is. Just that it was important to Gol D. Roger and that it's important to the world.

So everyone's looking for it.

Okay, but if you're not better in a few days then don't be stupid and push yourself into it. We can do it whenever!

Which I'm glad for! [Jeez, did she say something wrong? She was just trying to be nice - Norma was worried about the poor girl. While she wasn't hurt now, she very well could have been.] I mean, you helped me out a lot before, y'know? I'm just saying to be more careful, okay? I still haven't paid you back for kiiinda saving my backside from time to time.

[Oh. ...Oh dear.]

I'm sorry, Norma. It is...difficult to keep hearing that I haven't been careful. But that isn't your fault. [Mia shakes her head, for once not at all sure how to convey the complete sincerity of her apology.] I didn't mean to snap at you.

The language is archaic, and does require getting use to, but it's quite beautiful. It's talking about how love never dies. It's very romantic.

[And Estelle is a bit of a sucker for romantic things.]

[Grune looks up from her plate and smiles warmly.]

Good morning, Mia! How are you feeling?

[Never mind the actual time of day--"good morning" is what you say to people when they first wake up in her books.]

I'm so glad you aren't hurt. [You can hear the relief in his voice]

I'll be there in a bit though, okay? I won't stay long since you need your rest.

No problem. I'm glad you found what you needed, eh?
