Rogue {X-Men Evolution} touchofrogue ★★★★☆ There was a time when Mia was afraid of crossing any of the hundred small lines in the sand that Rogue draws around herself to be separate from others. Now that she feels as though she's allowed to be on the other side of those lines, Mia counts herself very lucky to have found a close friend in Rogue. Having someone to trust implicitly in Luceti has brought her peace; having someone take her seriously no matter what the topic, and then drag her out for an evening of hamburgers and dancing, reminds her that she is not all work. Rogue is grounding and takes action faster than Mia would, and sometimes that is the best way to proceed. Though she has a few close female friends, Rogue is the first to wander into "like a sister" territory; Mia feels she can trust her with just about anything.

Ororo (Storm) {X-Men Evolution} calmbeforethe ★★★☆☆ Ororo embodies many of the qualities that Mia aspires to have: calm, rational, and encouraging, without sacrificing a lighter fun side. Mia thinks her powers are beautiful and envies her (a little) the ability to fly. Though they don’t know each other as well as they could, Ororo’s presence and personality remind Mia in sweet nostalgic ways of her mother. She would never presume to tell anyone “I hope you stay” but in this case she wants to say “I hope you stay long enough that we become better friends.”

Logan (Wolverine) {X-Men Evolution} snikting ★★☆☆☆ It took Mia a while to see past Logan’s gruff exterior and his perpetual irritability. Living with him is not always a picnic. Sometimes it’s not even a late breakfast. However, it is obvious in his actions that he cares a great deal for his teammates, and that he would go through a lot to protect them. Somewhere along the way that blanket extended to Mia, and though she doesn’t love “Blue” as a nickname, she smiles because she has one. Logan is private and not at all wordy; prying into his past feels like a violation of unwritten trust.

Silver {Pokémon Special} tsuntrader ★★★★☆ Mia doesn’t begrudge Silver his initial testiness about her; he overwrote all of it when he found her lost and in a strange creature’s body. Instead of attacking, he helped her, going much farther than she would have expected from someone of his temperament. Since then she and his pokémon have become friends, with Silver on the border between friend and feeling like a younger brother. She doesn’t want to see anything happen to him, so his go-find-trouble nature causes her a great deal of worry. In the back of her mind is the memory of hearing “you’re family,” and that will probably never go away.

Norma {Tales of Legendia} bubblywishes ★★★★☆ Norma has enough cheerfulness and exuberance to take the dark clouds out of any terrible day. Mia has never had a lot of friends her own age, particularly female friends, and in many ways Norma reminds her of the few she does have – spunky and adventurous and ready for anything. If only she didn’t get hurt so much. What she wants most is to be able to do something pleasant and enjoyable with Norma during a peaceful time, instead of always crossing paths during fights or when one or the other is hurt. Her friendship is absolutely invaluable.

Walter {Tales of Legendia} blackteriques ★★★☆☆ Walter is a sweetheart with a serious disposition. Mia sees how he worries about his friends more than he expects people to believe, and thinks he would defend them with everything he has. When he lost his memories, she got to see a less severe facet of his, one she wishes he could show more often. The dark creature that allows him to fly is absolutely fascinating. She is glad for his company and that they have been there for each other more than once. Sometimes he could use a little perspective, or give the opinions of others a chance.

Grune {Tales of Legendia} lostinmyway ★★★★☆ Grune has been nothing short of a beautiful friend to Mia, no matter what the circumstances. She may be a little spacey, but Mia feels that it is because of her personality that Grune is able to share her emotions and thought so honestly. It's refreshing, and she thinks more people ought to give it a try. Grune is someone that Mia would never want to see sad or hurting, especially with such contagious happiness as her usual mood.

Seto {Fragile Dreams} presumablyalone ★★★★☆ Even when he appears happy or excited, Seto always seems lonely. It is something in his expression, or in the way he words things when he has new experiences. Though Mia doesn't believe anyone should be taken from their home in order to live in Luceti, she is glad she met Seto and that he may find some real companionship here. He feels like a younger brother to her, or like her apprentices felt, and she would put her life on the line to protect him.

Tony Stark {MCU} alloys ★★★☆☆ It is rare for Mia to warm up to somebody on a teasing and joking level as quickly as she has to Tony. He has a warm personality that can turn professional in an instant, and he hasn’t been misleading or condescending with her the way other (older) adults have in the past. She likes his sense of humor and thinks he is at heart a good person.

Gai {Guilty Crown} voidseeing ★☆☆☆☆ It is rare for Mia to outright dislike anyone, and this is true for Gai also. She doesn’t dislike him; she thinks he could use some tact and a change in attitude. Finding out he suffers from a presumably terminal disease that can’t be treated has softened her opinion of him and shed some light on why he might act as clipped and aggressive as he does.

Leonhardt {Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky} eyesofstrength ★★☆☆☆ She finds him almost impossible to read on the best of days. He has abilities the likes of which she has never seen, seems serious to a fault, and carries strong opinions about the world. And yet, she has seen his softer side and how much Joshua’s happiness and safety matters to him. The most confounding thing about Leonhardt is that most of the time, she can’t parse out what he’s feeling in order to respond to it.

Selphie {Final Fantasy VIII} selphie_t ★★★☆☆ Mia had mixed feelings about Selphie’s return. Glad to see her friend again, but concerned that she might be hurt and was away from her world once more, she didn’t know what to say at first. In fact she is always just a little worried about Selphie, because the girl seems to get into twice her share of trouble and is the sort to not want to take the time to rest. Mia has other friends like that, and of course her affection for this one only makes her fret more often.

Estelle {Tales of Vesperia} childofthefullmoon ★☆☆☆☆ It was hard to find out that Estelle didn’t remember her when she returned, but Mia is determined to be friendly with her again. The question about finding love in a place like Luceti rattled her a little; it’s definitely made her think. In everything she does, though, Estelle comes across as a sweet and genuine girl who does everything she can to be helpful and polite.

Luke Skywalker {Star Wars} thefinaljedi ★★☆☆☆ Putting aside the strangeness of being able to use (the) Force without being an Adept, Mia sees how much he cares for Ami and it brings out her most secret pleased smile. Luke is dependable and stable without being too stiff-collar and she thinks they would be good for each other.

Shikamaru {Naruto} endgames ★★☆☆☆ In the space of two minutes on the Third Floor mission he proved himself both capable and responsible, two things she can appreciate in anyone. She likes his eye for strategy and his considerate determination. Their interactions have been mostly “business” and she would look to him in a crisis as a source of direction.
